First Heart Attack!

February 24, 2010

I just had my first heart attack over our trip plans. Due to a typing error…brain going faster than hands…my final FINAL invoice listed our flights as paid on Continental Airlines.

But we’re *supposed* to be on British Airways!!

Nevermind.

We’re booked, confirmed, and paid in full on British Airways. We’ll leave on Wednesday and return two and a half weeks later on a Saturday night.

Now comes the hard part…clothing.

Rollin’ Along…

February 12, 2010

Later today I should have the final FINAL itinerary, with all of the changes and add-ins added in. Then Michele can secure our Club World tickets on British Airways, and we’re on the count down!

Debbie is a former darts player. She really wants to play some darts in a pub in Ireland. Potato Nugget’s brother is a tournament darts player in Ireland! They live in Limerick, and Adare Manor is about 10 miles from there! Hopefully they will join us for dinner and darts at a pub in Adare or Limerick during our 3 nights at Adare Manor.

But, I’m getting ahead of myself!

I totally skipped over part of the trip.
From Dublin we travel to Killarney, by way of Portlaoise and Leap Castle. Sean Ryan has graciously allowed us a visit. He and his family have been restoring Leap Castle for several years. Mr. Ryan is also a muscian, as is our Ryan. I hope to hear some musical renderings by the two of them while we visit.

From Leap Castle we will continue on to Limerick and southwest to Killarney. Last time we stayed at the International Hotel and didn’t have much time to explore Killarney town or to take a jaunting cart tour. This time we will stay at the Killarney Royal Hotel for two nights.
We originally were scheduled to take a day trip to Blarney Castle and Macroom, but yesterday I changed that. We will now be staying around the Killarney area and visiting Muckross House and Gardens, and their Traditional Farms. If time permits, we may make another foray to Kate Kearney’s and the Gap of Dunloe.
